warriors fans.jpgThe newly formed Warriors Friends Club yesterday converged in Mbare where they crafted a petition that called for a conclusion to the Asiagate saga.

Club President,Tendai Zhakata said the initiative which began in Mbare will be taken to all corners of the country.

Members held placards with various messages, with several members singing and calling for those found guilty of committing offences in the Asiagate scam to be brought to book.

The ethics committee chaired by retired judge, Justice Ahmed Ebrahim was last year put in place with the view of ensuring the Asiagate investigation process ends by March 31, but with only a few days remaining till the 31st, it is highly unlikely investigations would have been concluded.

The Asiagate scam emanates from the Zimbabwe national soccer team tours to Thailand, Malaysia and Syria, where it is alleged the Warriors received payments from betting syndicates to lose games, resulting in the Zimbabwe soccer team sliding down the FIFA rankings.
