The Zimbabwe national soccer team, the Warriors, is expected back home tomorrow afternoon after playing out a 1-1 draw against Congo Brazzaville yesterday.

A 1-all draw away from home saw the Warriors remain at the top of Group G with the stalemate against Congo Brazaville taking Zimbabwe’s points tally to 4.

The Democratic Republic of Congo also moved to 4 points but the Warriors are top courtesy of a superior goal difference.

Reacting to the Warriors performance, football analyst Stanley Katsande was pleased with the Warriors’ performance though pointing to some areas that Sunday Chidzambwa needs to work on.

After commanding the first half Oliver Vembo, however, expressed disappointment with a second half in which Congo Brazzaville dominated.

Khama Billiat opened the scoring for the Warriors before Congo Brazzaville danger man Thievy Bifouma equalised for the hosts just 5 minutes after the restart in a contest that eventually ended in a stalemate.

After yesterday’s draw, Zimbabwe will now be bracing up for two tough back-to-back encounters against the DRC.
