Children of war veterans from Umguza district have pledged their support for the Zanu PF first secretary Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa who is also the Zanu PF presidential candidate during the harmonised elections to be held later this year.

The children of war veterans in Umguza district met in Nyamandlovu, yesterday afternoon to build the structure of their association as well as familiarise with the structure of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association.

According to children of war veterans’ provincial secretary for information and publicity Cde Delay Ncube, the association in Umguza has unanimously agreed to support the President and will work using guidelines from the Zanu PF leadership in the province.

“We are behind the President ED Mnangagwa during these coming elections. We are also working hand-in-hand with the party for all our programmes. As children of war veterans we will support the party in mobilising youths to register to vote and also to vote for the party Zanu PF,” he said.

Efforts are being made to organise workshops which are meant to train youths in various skills so that they can start income generating projects in the district.

The association which was formed in 2013 is on a drive to boost its membership through its awareness and publicity programmes.
