A war veteran, Cde Robert Mutsveta, whose Chimurenga name was Danger Eyes Munetsi has died.
He was 53.Â Â
Cde Mutsveta died at Chitungwiza General Hospital on Monday.
He did his secondary education at Ratelshock School in Chipinge before joining the liberation struggle in 1978 in Mozambique, where he was trained at Muchenedzi Camp.
Between 1979 and 1980, he specialised in topography and physics in Romania.
He later obtained a Diploma in Communication at the University of Timsoaraals in Romania.
Cde Mutsveta was attested into the Zimbabwe National Army in 1982 and later joined the Presidentâ€™s Department as a Trainee Radio Operator.
He rose through the ranks to become Chief Radio Operator, a rank he held until the time of his death.
Cde Mutsveta also received a bronze medal for his participation in the liberation war.
He is survived by his two wives, Admora and Mary and seven children.
Mourners are gathered at house number 3481, Manyame Park, St Maryâ€™s, Chitungwiza.
After being accorded the liberation war hero status, Cde Mutsveta will be buried on Thursday at the Harare Provincial Heroes Acre.
