War collaborators have been urged to register their names with the Zimbabwe War Veterans Association in their rural areas to facilitate the vetting exercise of war collaborators across the country.
This was said by Zanu PF Harare Provincial Chairman, Ambassador Amos Midzi during a meeting of war collaborator s from around the country’s ten provinces, who were gathered at the Zanu PF headquarters to deliberate on the vetting exercise of war collaborators countrywide.
“All war collaborators should register with the Zimbabwe War Veterans Association to ensure that those who took part in the liberation struggle can be recognised for them to benefit from the indigenisation and economic empowerment programme currently underway,†said Cde Midzi.
Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, war veterans and war collaborators hailed the initiative.
The Zimbabwean government has since recognized the role played by war veterans and war prisoners in liberating the country, but the same has not been done with regard to war collaborators, hence the vetting process.
