War collaborators could soon start receiving incentives like their war veterans counterparts as government intensifies the registration of such cadres which shall be followed by a thorough vetting process before the end of the year.
All persons who participated in the liberation struggle will soon be grouped under one umbrella cluster and will be called veterans of the liberation struggle, a development which shall see war collaborators also getting incentives and government continues to register such cadres in line with the provisions of the constitution.
Addressing scores of veterans of the struggle at Stanley Hall in Bulawayo, the Minister of Welfare Services for War Veterans, War Collaborators, Political Detainees and Restrictees, Retired Colonel Tshinga Dube urged all cadres of the struggle to take advantage of the exercise and get registered.
The war veterans minister had no kind words for the group of war veterans led by Cde Mandi Chimene which he accused of being in contempt of court by continuing to use the name of the war veterans association and premises despite a High Court order barring them from conducting such activities.
The event also witnessed the elderly receiving blankets while some youths from Makokoba constituency were presented with soccer kits from Cde Dube who is also the house of assembly member of the area.
