After a string of positive results in the central region division one league Vumbachikwe Mine FC believes it is their time to bring PSL football back to Matabeleland South.
Having gone for more than two months with only one defeat, Vumbachikwe FC is adamant that the glory days of Njube Sundowns are back, when the mighty Highlanders, Dynamos and Caps United would leave Pelandaba stadium with their tails between their legs.
Overseeing the team training at their mining site base Coach Gatsi Mkombwe said their fine run is due to hard work and support from the mine management, technical team and the fans.
“The results have been positive and it is down to the good rapport between the technical staff and the players and most importantly the support we are getting from the mine administration. The glory days are back . If we continue playing like this we are bringing PSL football back to mat south,” he said.
Watching every training drill from the stands, Vumba fans believe it is now or never for their team.
They are positive their team will go all the way to win the league in the end.
“It is now or never for our team, this is our year and we can’t afford to miss any game that’s why we even come for training. With the new coach we are destined for greater heights we are now the PSL stuff, come end season we will be there,” said the fans.
The resurgent Vumbachikwe Mine FC is two points shy of the top spot in the central region division one league having beaten Hwahwa 3 -1 in their own backyard before drawing nil-all with the Beitbridge based Dulivhadzimu FC at home.
