Vice President Joice Mujuru, who is Zanu PF’s Second Secretary, has urged party members to be united and come up with resolutions that will present the plight of the people ahead of the party’s 12th Annual National People’s Conference to be held in Bulawayo in December.
Cde Mujuru made the remarks during the Zanu PF national fundraising dinner dance held in Harare.
Vice President Mujuru, who was the guest of honour at the revolutionary party’s fundraising dinner dance said if there is unity of purpose, the party will come up with resolutions that will help in tackling problems that the nation is facing.
â€It is surprising that when we go for the national conference, some will be going to seek leadership opportunities, but we say let us put the people first. Zanu PF is a party of the people and as we go for the national conference we would want the challenges the people are facing to be presented,†said Cde Mujuru.
“Nothing much has been done in writing the experiences which the freedom fighters endured during the liberation struggle. So we need to educate the people especially youths on the party’s experiences so that they defend the country’s sovereignty from a well informed perspective,†she added.
Zanu PF National Fundraising Committee Chairman, Cde Noah Mangondo thanked the business community and the party for its support during the fundraising dinner dance, adding that the intended target had been surpassed.
The fundraising dinner dance was attended by the Zanu PF leadership including the party’s Secretary for Administration, Cde Didymus Mutasa; Chairman of the Harare Province, Cde Amos Midzi; Mashonaland Central Chairman, Cde Dickson Mafios and the Minister of State Enterprises, Cde Sylvester Nguni, among others.
