vice president mujuru 08-12-10 ed.jpgVice President Joice Mujuru, who is leading a Zimbabwean tourism delegation to Seychelles, arrived at Mahe International Airport this Thursday afternoon.

 

Vice President Mujuru is leading a Zimbabwean tourism delegation to the Seychelles carnival to be held from the 4th to the 6th of this month.

 

She was met at the Mahe International Airport by Seychelles Minister of Investment, Natural Resources and Industry, Mr Peter Sinon and the Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Mr Alain St Ange.

 

Soon after arrival, Vice President Mujuru paid a courtesy call on the Vice President of the Republic of Seychelles at the State House, Mr Danny Faure.

 

Speaking after meeting Mr Faure, Cde Mujuru commended the Seychelles government for the friendly invitation.

 

She said Zimbabwe would like to learn a lot from Seychelles as it will host a similar tourism festivity in October at Sanganai/Hlanganani Tourism Africa Fair.

 

She also took the opportunity to invite Seychelles to attend the tourism exhibition.

 

Cde Mujuru called for closer bilateral relations between the two countries.

 

Relations between Zimbabwe and Seychelles have been growing steadily with the government of President James Michel naming one of its islands after Zimbabwe.

 

Zimbabwe has also trained a number of doctors from Seychelles.

 

Vice President Mujuru is expected to meet President of the Republic of Seychelles this Friday before the official opening of the International Carnival de Victoria in the city centre.

 

The event has attracted several dignitaries from across the world including China, Italy, France, South Africa, Tanzania, Zanzibar and Zimbabwe.
