Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa says the government is committed to facilitate the implementation of value addition systems to unlock production in the economy.

He said this during a tour of various stands at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo today.

Cde Mnangagwa was accompanied by his wife, Cde Auxillia Mnangagwa, the Minister of State in his office Cde Clifford Sibanda, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Mrs Virginia Mabhiza and senior ZITF and government officials.

“I am impressed with the level of commitment by local firms to focus on value addition at a time the nation is focusing towards consolidating macro-economic gains through increasing farming production. The government is therefore doing its best to support key strategic industries that have a potential to add value to their commodities and raise in the much needed foreign currency,” said Cde Mnangagwa after the tour.

The Vice President also had an opportunity to interact with the exhibitors, trying to find out their needs, challenges and how they can also play a critical role in the macro economic development of the nation.
