vp nkomolanda.jpgVice President John Landa Nkomo has called on the business community to partner the government in ensuring the completion of construction of Lupane State University.

Addressing delegates during the launch of Lupane State University Stakeholders Fundraising Initiative in Bulawayo, Vice President Nkomo said the slow progress in the construction of the university since its inauguration in 2004 is a major cause for concern.

Vice President Nkomo said there is need for society to be concerned with the education of the younger generation.

Lupane State University received the charter to operate as an institution of higher learning in October 2004 and was given the mandate to focus its thrust on agricultural sciences.

Currently the university is operating from rented centres in Bulawayo.
