The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has deployed biometric voter registration (BVR) officers in Chipinge, Chimanimani, parts of Buhera and Mutare as the elections authority embarks on the first phase of the registration exercise in Manicaland Province.

BVR kits arrived in Chipinge over the weekend.

ZEC district officer for Chipinge, Mr James Saguru urged the electorate to take advantage of the BVR that has been brought close to all the people with each centre being manned by three officers.

He said all preparations for the start of biometric registration in all wards in Chipinge and some parts of Buhera, Chimanimani and Mutare have been done extensively leading to deployment of officers to the registration centres.

The current deployments being done under phase one will last for 16 days with the officers expected to move to other places thereafter.
