Women have been urged to ensure they vote fellow women into positions of authority who add value to the system.

Addressing women at a belated International Women’s Day at Chitekwe Primary School in Mtoko, Zanu PF National Secretary for Women’s Affairs Cde Marble Chinomona said women who are voted into positions should add value to the system not to just fill positions.

“We want you to elect women who are appointable into government positions not to just add numbers,” she said.

Mashonaland East Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Cde David Musabayana and Zanu PF provincial chairperson Cde Nyarai Chiura spoke on the need to elect women into offices in the coming elections.

“As we approach the elections let’s elect fellow women into positions of authority so that they get into decision making positions,” said Cde Musabayana.

Mashonaland East currently has four women members of the house of assembly out of 23 constituencies.
