The national volleyball league intensifies with all teams scaling up their performances ahead of the Zone 6 Southern African Games to be held in Durban, South Africa in November this year.

The Zimbabwe Volleyball Association said it is pleased with the performances in the league games currently citing that all teams are putting in maximum effort in preparation for the Zone 6 regional games.

Second vice-president of the Zimbabwe Volleyball Association Enias Kondo told ZBC News he is pleased with the show adding that there is significant improvement in terms of quality as compared to the previous league.

In-form Harare City captain Blessing Manhai said he is impressed by the team’s performance so far while struggling Rhinos captain Simbarashe Jena commended his team for an improved effort.

Meanwhile, Harare City beat Black Rhinos 3-2, while UZ won 3-nil over Chinhoyi University of Technology.

NUST registered a 3-nil win against Highlanders, with ZRP Support Unit claiming a 3-nil win over Highlanders while NABA also beat NUST 3-nil.
