Vice President Retired General Dr Constantino Chiwenga says the increased popularity of Zanu PF shown by the large crowds attending the party’s rallies following the coming in of the new dispensation should result in a landslide victory for the ruling party.
As the election date draws nearer, the attendance at Zanu PF rallies continues to surge with the revolutionary party upscaling its campaigns ahead of the 30 July national polls.
Addressing thousands of supporters in Odzi, Vice President Chiwenga said victory is certain for Zanu PF if its supporters cast their votes during the country’s polls.
He said more support will be channelled towards all sectors of the economy in line with the increase in the national population adding that construction of schools and health facilities is part of priorities that include rural electrification, ICT investments, tarring of roads and upgrading of irrigation schemes.
“No stone will be left unturned after elections to improve the lives of the people as well as developing the country. A number of community development projects to be implemented after elections have been lined up,” he said.
Vice President Chiwenga said the Zanu PF party will ensure development reaches all corners of the country as well as attending to challenges affecting all communities through the devolution process with Mutare Provincial Hospital being earmarked for expansion and given modern equipment to improve health delivery while local clinics will be upgraded with Odzi being improved to be a district hospital.
“Identified clinics, schools and roads to be attended to after elections with Odzi Clinic to be upgraded into a district hospital while Mutare Provincial Hospital will also be upgraded,” Vice President Chiwenga said.
Dr Chiwenga urged Zimbabweans to remain peaceful saying that elections come and go but the Zanu PF party’s vision to build a Zimbabwe all want remains important for the development of the country.
