Victoria Falls tourism operators, the United States of America and the Australian embassies are exploring ways of sustaining the current growth momentum and increase tourists traffic from the two source markets.
The recently held one day meeting which brought together tourism operators, Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) and officials from USA as well as Australian embassies saw participants agreeing on the need to deepen cooperation in promoting tourism.
Tourism players from the resort town expressed optimism that the synergies with the Australian and USA embassies will help consolidate Victoria Falls’ status as an attractive tourism destination.
“We are excited about the interactive engagement which we feel will go a long way in boosting tourists’ traffic and enhancing the attractiveness of our destination,” Zimbabwe Council for Tourism representative, Barbara Murasiranwa said.
Some of the issues covered during the meeting include security, the destination’s room capacity, accessibility and possible areas of cooperation in marketing the destination.
Zimbabwe which is targeting 2,5 million tourist arrivals in 2018 has intensified the reengagement drive in order to attract capital and to boost tourist traffic.
