The long awaited process of vetting war collaborators is still work in progress but the task will be undertaken without fail, a war veterans leader has said.
War collaborators from Mashonaland West Province convened in Chinhoyi at the weekend and were given the assurance that the vetting exercise that was supposed to have commenced and completed well before the July 30 elections will be undertaken in due course.
War veterans chairman for Mashonaland West, Cde Cornelius Muwoni told the collaborators that the exercise is meant to give recognition to bonafide freedom fighters.
“You are going to be vetted very soon. We are making noise about the issue, and there is no going back on that one. That recognition is very important,” he said.
He warned those infiltrating the freedom fighters associations with a view to causing confusion at the behest of their handlers to desist from the practice.
