The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) is set to hold a verification exercise for all the war collaborators in the country as steps towards forming formal structures.
The verification exercise that will identify genuine war collaborators is expected to lead to the formation of formal structures.
The move is in line with recommendations made at the 11th Zanu PF National Conference held in December last year.
Speaking at an awareness campaign about the verification exercise in Harare, ZNLWVA National Vice Chairman, Cde Japhet Chinake said the move had been necessitated by the fact that there were a number of individuals among war collaborators with a hidden agenda.Â Â
The awareness campaign for the verification exercise has so far been carried out in all provinces except Midlands and Matabeleland North.Â
The actual verification exercise will begin after the two remaining provinces have been alerted.
The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Collaborators Association Interim Chairman, Cde Joseph Kandemiri noted that the setting up of formal structures for war collaborators is expected to create unity of purpose with war veterans.
The war collaborators are also in the process of gearing up for elections which are expected later this year.
