The recent fee hike at Mbare Musika by the Harare city council has been described as unreasonable as the city fathers have not done anything to improve the state of the markets which has deteriorated.
Farmers and vendors at the market said the fees being demanded by the city fathers are exorbitant and unreasonable as the current state of the market is appalling.
Early this week farmers and vendors were caught unawares when the city council closed the market demanding US$10 per day.
Zimbabwe Home Industries and Marketers Association President Mr. Onismo Gore said the fees are too high considering the fact that the city fathers are not improving the state of the market.
The condition of the markets has deteriorated with Council not using money collected to develop infrastructure.
