Upcoming afro-pop musician from Chiredzi Captain Mupezeni popularly known as “Swaggmate” says many young artistes in the province have the potential to make it in the music industry although they lack enough support and exposure.
Despite coming from a small town like Chiredzi, Swaggmate has high hopes that one day he will break the ceiling and become one of the most popular afro-pop musicians in Zimbabwe.
With one album to his name titled: “Hupenyu Hwehuranda” and several singles including one he collaborated with Nox Guni, in his hometown he is considered one of the best as he performs at a number of local events.
He, however, bemoaned lack of exposure and support as one of the major challenges many artistes outside major cities face.
Mupezeni started singing in 2009 and is looking forward to release a new single featuring popular Urban Groove musician Roki.
