obert mpofu.jpgUmguza legislator, Cde Obert Mpofu, who is also Mines and Mining Development Minister, has called on the public to shun violence and conduct their campaigns peacefully as the country prepares for general elections which are expected to be held next year.

Addressing Zanu PF supporters at a rally held in Ntabazinduna, Cde Mpofu said Zanu PF will not allow the next elections to be marked by violence as it is a democratic party which allows people to vote peacefully and freely.

He however called on the party supporters to shun external influence which is coming through dubious political parties, adding that people should not be deceived by the current Zapu as the original PF Zapu signed an agreement with Zanu PF to form a united Zanu PF in 1987.

Zanu PF Central Committee member, Cde Sikhanyisiwe Mpofu called on women and youths to form clubs and submit project proposals of their choice so that the party can assist them in the same way it has assisted other wards in the constituency.

Cde Mpofu and his wife handed over 15 tonnes of maize with numerous projects such as borehole drilling, mining and construction of a health centre already in the pipeline.

Currently, Cde Mpofu and his wife are paying school fees for all orphans and disadvantaged primary school children and supporting widows in the constituency.
