The champions league quarter-final draw was made at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland today with holders Real Madrid looking to become the first team to defend the trophy.

The pairings were determined by an open draw which meant that any teams could be drawn against each other.

German champions Bayern Munich go head-to-head against holders Real Madrid in arguably the tie of the round with Juventus also facing Barcelona.

Spain’s Atletico Madrid take on English champions Leicester City whose champions league run has been phenomenal while Borussia Dortmund take on AS Monaco.

The first legs will be played on Tuesday April 11 and Wednesday April 12 with the return legs taking place on the 18th and 19th.

The final will be held on Saturday June 3 at the national stadium of Wales in Cardiff.
