The Urban Development Corporation (UDCORP) has completed the initial phase for the proposed four new towns with the one earmarked for Bulawayo yet to be completed.

The government has capacitated and allocated UDCORP state land to develop with beneficiaries drawn from government and local authorities waiting lists.

UDCORP planner Ms Constance Muchono says to date planning for Manyame, Chishawasha B and Norton Knockmalloch has been done, while Umvucha in Bulawayo is awaiting completion.

Under the government blueprint, the ZIM ASSET, government intends to avail more than 300 000 housing units by 2018.

More than one million people are on the national housing waiting list.
