Tennis Zimbabwe (TZ) president Martin Lock has expressed satisfaction with the way preparations for the crucial Euro-Africa Group II Davis Cup home tie at the Harare Sports Club in the capital are going.

Lock a former Davis Cup team player and captain paid tribute to the corporate sponsors for the support and members of the Zimbabwe team who have been putting in the hours of hard work going into the final team camp which begins this weekend.

Lock described the tie against Turkey as one of the toughest tests Zimbabwe has had to face in an effort to preserve their status in the prestigious Euro-Afro zone group.

In an interview with the ZBC News, Lock said Turkey has a strong team and is expected to bring all their top players which makes the ties both exciting and challenging.

Zimbabwe face Turkey in the crucial Euro-Africa Group II tie at Harare Sports Club next weekend.

Takanyi Garanganga has been working out with local coach Martin Dzuwa since the festive season ended while Benjamin Lock is coincidentally playing on the Future Tours International Circuit in Turkey.

Benji is expected to join camp this weekend.

Promising youngsters Mark Chigaazira and Mehluli Ayanda Sibanda are training with non-playing captain Gwinyai Tongoona and other coaches including Freeman Nyamunokora at Harare Sports Club.

Members of the Zimbabwe team will hold coaching clinics at Warren Park 2 and Mufakose in the capital tomorrow morning as part of raising awareness of the Turkey tie and giving back and sharing tips with youngsters.
