The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has sworn in two more magistrates at the Harare Magistrates Court in a development set to see the expeditious hearing of pending cases.
The development follows government’s uplifting of the recruitment freeze at the behest of the treasury.
Addressing members of the press soon after the swearing in ceremony, Prosecutor General, Mr Kumbirai Hodzi said the JSC had long been hard hit by the critical shortage of magistrates following high demand of services.
Acting Chief Magistrate, Mr Munamato Mutevedzi weighed saying the two sworn in magistrates will complement the required number needed by government in the meantime.
The sworn in magistrates are Michelle Dorcas Tinotenda Mutasa and Notebulgarh Muchineripi, both holders of law degrees.
