Organisers of the Twin Rivers Junior Chess championships have hailed the event saying the tournament was a success given the number of participants which turned out for the event.
The Twin Rivers Junior Chess championships saw over 272 players from across the country showcasing their talents at the youthful event held in the capital this Saturday.
For the organising team, the tournament was a success given the number of participants this year compared to previous events.
Some of the participants who include the newly crowned 11 year old Woman Candidate Master Rumbidzai Mawire were overjoyed saying the tournament gave them a platform to expose their talents.
Meanwhile, Keyla Mugomba came first in the under 9 category while Tawananyasha Kunaka dominated the under 10 and 11 category with Tafadzwa Butete winning the under 12 crown.
