Passengers travelling this Friday on a low cost airline, Fastjet from Harare to Victoria Falls are set to get a rare treat as the country’s music icon Dr Oliver Mtukudzi is set to perform in the mid-flight ahead of his music show scheduled for the resort town on Saturday.

The music legend is set to deliver an acoustic set comprising tracks from his new offering “Hany’ga” at 34 000 feet.

Both Tuku Music Stable and the airline have confirmed the rare treat which is a first ever in the country.

The mid-flight performance is part of the airline’s drive to promote domestic tourism.

Commenting on the development, Fastjet spokesperson Faith Chaitezvi said the airline is passionate about supporting the growth of the local tourism industry and to be associated with the music legend.

The party will not end on board as the superstar will also entertain tourists on a boat cruise before the full band performs at Elephant Hills hotel.

The entertainment starved residents of the border town are also looking forward to a memorable evening with the music icon.
