Music superstar Dr Oliver Mtukudzi wowed his fans in the border town of Victoria Falls over the weekend as he unpacked his latest offering Hany’ga at a musical show organised by tourism players meant to promote domestic tourism.

It was a memorable weekend for the entertainment starved residents of the resort town as music icon Mtukudzi descended on the border town to perform at a show jointly organised by Elephant Hills Hotel and Fastjet.

The music legend who on Friday gave travellers on Fastjet a rare treat as he performed mid-flight before entertaining tourists on a boat cruise on the mighty Zambezi River, did not exhibit any sign of fatigue as he thrilled his fans during the music show.

The music icon who recently released his 67th album Hany’ga (Concern) belted out some of the tracks on the latest offering and also took revellers down memory lane with some of his greatest hits, much to the delight of the fans.

Among the songs from the latest album which got the fans on the dance floor include wanza sorry, matope and bopoto.

Fastjet Regional Marketing Executive Faith Chaitezvi said the overall objective of the event was to promote domestic tourism and described the show as a success.

“It was much better than what we anticipated. We have managed to lighten up the tourism destination. As a domestic operator we are committed to promote the destination,” said Chaitezvi.

The music superstar’s fans say they are now looking forward to the much hyped Tuku and Mukanya (Thomas Mapfumo) show scheduled for next month.
