All is set for the 11th edition of the Bonaqua Troutbeck ATU sprint triathlon African Cup which will be held in Nyanga tomorrow.

Zimbabwe will be represented by the pair of debutant Gideon Benade and veteran Rory Mackie who makes a welcome return to the elite men’s event since his last appearance in 2006.

It is the first time that Zimbabwe will be represented in the elite men’s event since 2-time Olympian Chris Felgate took part in 2012.

All in all 15 male athletes and 5 females will compete for a podium finish in Nyanga tomorrow.

Zimbabwe Triathlon Union president, Rick Fulton said they are hopeful for perfect weather conditions for the event which has attracted athletes from all over the world.

The African Cup will be held concurrently with national championships where the final junior and youth teams to represent Zimbabwe at African Triathlon Championships set for Rabat, Morocco in April will be selected.
