transimitters.jpgTransmedia has embarked on a massive expansion drive that has seen the national signal carrier installing transmission boosters in remote areas as well as boarder posts which have not been receiving radio and television signals since independence.

Transmedia Board Chairman, Dr Paul Chimedza told ZBC News that such areas as Plumtree, Beitbridge, Victoria Falls have started receiving radio transmission.

Dr Chimedza said Transmedia is working flat out to install boosters in other remote areas which were not receiving signals as part of efforts to deal with pirate radios.

Over the past years, people in remote areas especially situated at the boarders have not been receiving radio audience but the Transmedia boss expressed confidence that given adequate financial support, all the affected areas will be in a position to receive radio signals.
