The Zimbabwean tourism sector has been challenged to take full advantage of the on-going strategy consultative workshops in order to promote some of the country’s resort facilities.
This came out during the second phase of the one-day National Tourism Sector Strategy Consultative Workshop held in Bulawayo that was running under the theme, ‘Unlocking the Development Potential of the Tourism Economy’.
Guest of honour at the function, Minister of State for Bulawayo Metropolitan Province, Honourable Angeline Masuku, called upon the tourism players to have a holistic approach in their efforts to market various attractions in the country.
While the need to come up with a sector specific vision cannot be overemphasized, Zimbabwe tourism Authority chief executive officer, Dr Karikoga Kaseke revealed that the strategy could not be individually spearheaded, instead a full participation by stakeholders was necessary.
The workshop that was attended by various players in the tourism sector will shift to the Victoria Falls for the third and final leg this Thursday.
