Pupils at Marondamashanu High School in Chikomba will have a good start to this term after receiving a donation of uniforms and stationery from the school’s former students.

The Marondamashanu High School old students moblilsed resources to help disadvantaged children at the school.

According to the old students, the idea is to ensure that pupils will concentrate on their academic work without having to worry about basic needs.

The donation also included sanitary wear for girls and sports kits.

“As a person who grew up in this part of the country, I know how difficult it is not to have uniforms and books so we want these kids to concentrate on their education,” said Prophetess Lilian Matimbire, who is also the leader of Daughters of Virtue.

The elderly who also received blankets and food items thanked the former students for the donations.

“We would like to thank the former students for their kind donation, may God bless them,” said Reverend Misheck Mbodza of the Anglican Church.

The former students also donated part of the stationery to neighbouring schools which include Hamukwenjera primary, All Saints and Manyene Holly Cross.
