The senior women’s netball team, the Gems, were today (Tuesday) given a timely moral boost when a financial services company donated two sets of playing kits, sneakers, tracksuits and other sports accessories.
The Gems who are ranked 14th in the world are scheduled to compete in the African Championships in Namibia.
Financial services firm, Send Money Home marketing executive, Alvin Mazorodze said they will continue to support the team until they become number one in the world.
Zimbabwe Netball Association (ZINA) president Letticia Chipandu said they were grateful for the timely support that will motivate the Gems to retain the gold medal and trophy they won last year.
Mukuru country representative, Tawanda Chinyanyi said the team shares the Gems values as his organisation and implored the ladies to wear the kit with pride and represent the country well.
The kit worth over $5 000 was presented to the ZINA president and team captain Perpetua Siyachitema.
