chinese ambassador.jpgChinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr. Xin Shunkang says he is confident that the diplomatic ties between his country and Zimbabwe will be further strengthened this year in light of various exchange programmes that are lined up for different sectors.



Addressing journalists after paying a courtesy call at Vice President John Landa Nkomo’s office in Harare, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr. Xin Shunkang said a number of exchange programmes have been lined up this year



Accompanying the Chinese Ambassador was Xinhua News Agency African Regional Director Mr. Wang Chaowen who is in the country for the 30th anniversary of the photo exhibition to be held in the capital this week. 


Mr. Chaowen said this year he is looking forward to more exchange programmes between the two countries especially in the media fraternity.

The good relations between Zimbabwe and China date back from the time of Zimbabwe’s struggle for independence when the Asian nation assisted in the training and equipping of the liberation fighters.


The Look East Policy which government embarked on when western countries imposed illegal sanctions on the country has been a success story with different sectors of the economy chief among them agriculture having benefited from the policy.
