The tournament whose objectives among others were to select a national team and to assess the clubs readiness for the forthcoming season which begins in early April.
The traditional pre-season tournament had a wide geographical representation as it paraded 19 teams from diverse areas across the country such as Rushinga, Hwedza, Mutoko, Hwange and Chivi among others.
Zimbabwe Netball Association President, Leticia Chipandu said the aim of the tournament was to assess the teamsâ€™ preparedness ahead of the approaching season and to give the promoted teams an opportunity to taste the waters before taking to the top flight terrain.
â€œThe thing that is making me happy is that we have a lot of young players taking part in the tournament.
â€œAt the end of it we are going to select a national team which we hope to beef up with several under 20 players before we go to Tanzania for some international assignments hoping to improve on our 3rd position on the Africa rankings,â€ Chipandu said.
The netball super league pre-season tournament exhibited a high level of competitive action from the 19 participating teams.
Glory however went to Nehanda Nyakasikana who beat Zimbabwe Defence Forces Queens by 26 points to 23 in a nail-biting final that was highly entertaining.
Tenet finished third, while Mambas Queens came fourth as the teams geared up for the 2012 Netball Super League season which commences in early April.
