Addressing delegates attending a World Vision Extraordinary Southern Africa Region Meeting which is currently underway in Bulawayo, Cde Mujuru said the success of NGO’s should not be judged by lengthy stay in their areas of operation.

She added that the government of Zimbabwe welcomes public voluntary organisations and appreciates their role.

Vice President Mujuru however said the government insists that interventions should be done within the confines of the laws of the country.

She also said Zimbabweans do not need assistance from any foreign institutions in directing their local politics.

Cde Mujuru highlighted that NGO’s should complement government’s efforts by assisting in areas where it would have failed due to limited resources.

The meeting is being attended by NGO representatives from the United States of America, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and the World Vision regional leadership, among others.
