Teacher training colleges have begun to adjust their syllabi to suit the requirements of the new education curriculum introduced by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.

It emerged during the 58th graduation ceremony for Hillside Teachers’ College that most teachers now being churned out by teacher training institutions have been equipped with knowledge and skills on the fundamentals of the new education curriculum that government adopted at the beginning of this year.

Addressing delegates during the graduation ceremony this Thursday (yesterday), Hillside Teachers’ College principal, Mr Edward Gumbo said his institution is proud to have produced graduates in areas of research and innovation.

Excited graduands said they are looking forward to start applying the knowledge acquired throughout their training.

The adoption of the new curriculum by teacher training institutions is a major boost to the implementation of the syllabi.

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education will now concentrate on training teachers who are already practicing but never got the opportunity to learn the dictates of the new curriculum.
