Tanzanian travel agents have expressed readiness to work with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) in marketing Zimbabwe to the East African market and highlighted the need to join marketing efforts in promoting the iconic Victoria Falls and Mt Kilimanjaro.

Tanzanian tour operators, who were in the country to sample some of the popular tourist attractions which include Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park, said there is scope for increasing tourists traffic from the East Africa into Zimbabwe.

“It has been a wonderful experience and we leant a lot about his destination. We would like to work closely with the ZTA in promoting destination Zimbabwe,” said Mr Jerry Ngewe, the Air Tanzania Marketing Executive.

Mr Ngewe also said following the re-launch of the Dar es Salaam – Harare flights, the airline is looking forward to extend its route network to include Victoria Falls.

“Since the re-launch, the passenger volume has been encouraging and going forward we are hopeful that we will be able to launch Harare to Victoria Falls flights,” he added.

The delegation which included travel and consultant agents as well bloggers commended the sound infrastructure and tourism products in Zimbabwe.
