The Zimbabwe Table Tennis Union (ZTTU) has established 8 centres of excellence around the country to promote the growth of table tennis.
ZTTU president John Muringani said the move is aimed at providing platforms for all athletes to take up the sport.
The table tennis body has also planted technical directors in all the 10 provinces of the country to oversee coaching of the sport.
Two provinces, Matabeleland North and South are yet to have the centres of excellence.
Table tennis is one of the sport codes which will be making a debut appearance at this year’s National Youth Games with each province sending in two teams, one for the boys and the other representing the girls.
