The Mashonaland Senior Swimming championships continue in the capital tomorrow as preparations for the Zone VI championships intensify.
The Mashonald Swimming gala which is being held over three consecutive weekends continues in Harare at the Les Brown swimming complex in the capital and more records are expected to tumble at the final gala of the year this weekend.
As was expected, several records were broken, while the Sharks and Pirates dominated the gala and took turns to mount the podium.
The exploits of the Lawson brothers, James and Matthew and the return to form of Samantha Welch were the major talking points at the gala for their all-round performances.
The trio which is in the Zimbabwe swimming team for the Zone VI youth games scheduled for Swaziland next week are expected to be the leading lights.
The Mashonaland Swimming Championships are an annual event and some of these top swimmers are using the event to fine-tune their performances ahead of the Zone VI championships.
Seven local swimming clubs are taking part at the championships.
