President Emmerson Mnangagwa has met members of the Singapore-based Surface Wilmar Group who are set to invest US$24 million more in their Zimbabwe operations.

Speaking to ZBC News, Surface Wilmar Group Zimbabwe Chairman Mr Narottam Somani said the funding will go towards retooling machines at one of the company’s subsidiary, Olivine Industries and Chegutu Canners where the company expects to go into tomato processing and canning.

The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Enterprise Development Dr Mike Bimha said government is upbeat about the company’s local investment since it also wants to finance the growing of soybean and tomatoes.
