Students from various schools in Harare Metropolitan Province have commended the first ever provincial annual science, sports and arts festival (PASSAF) under the new education curriculum for primary and secondary schools held today at Prince Edward School in the capital

PASSAF was conceived as a way to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the new primary and secondary education curriculum which sought to revamp the colonial education system.

Students who are participating at the festival showcased their talents and skills in different ways.

Participants were drawn from disciplines such as athletics, volleyball, rugby, basketball, different arts, drum majorettes, music and martial arts.

Teachers who accompanied their students said the festival promotes equity, diversity and decisive learning.

The winners will represent their provinces at the national annual science, sports and arts festival (NASSAF) to be held in Harare in September.
