zim stock xchange 20.10.jpgMonetary authorities say stock market activities have remained subdued this year largely reflecting liquidity constraints in the absence of balance of payments and budgetary support.


The central bank revealed that the stock market has exhibited a downward trend reflecting low investor confidence.


It has been noted that this has resulted in a sudden drop within the market with capitalization moving down from 3,97 billion dollars to 3,19 billion dollars in June this year.


The industrial index has to  date registered a 19,2 percent drop since December 2009 to June 2010 reflecting liquidity challenges affecting industries.
