Fears of an outbreak of waterborne diseases at Chitungwiza Central Hospital on the onset of the rainy season have prompted a local bank to donate boreholes to the hospital.

Servicing a population of around 2 million and acting as a referral centre for outlying areas, Chitungwiza Central Hospital has been experiencing water cuts which caused a lot of problems in their service delivery.

However, this Tuesday the hospital received a short in the arm following a donation of two boreholes by Stanbic Bank.

“The donation will make a big difference at the hospital,” said Dr Obadiah Moyo, Chitungwiza Central Hospital CEO.

The bank pledged commitment in continuing to partner with the hospital in a number of projects.

Chitungwiza Central Hospital continues to partner with private players to ensure that the public access quality health service.
