The war veterans in Masvingo province say stamping out corruption is key to ensuring that the economy thrives.
The war veterans, who held a meeting to celebrate the party’s victory in the harmonised elections, also commended the President for the recently appointed cabinet.
The war veterans’ chairperson for Masvingo province Cde Tendeukai Chinooneka said as war veterans they are confident that the team of ministers put in place will deliver.
“We hope that those people who were put in place will work hard and help in turning around the economy. Once we stamp out corruption, our economy will thrive. We have resources – once we become accountable with those resources there is so much that can take place,” said Cde Chinooneka.
Cde Chinooneka also emphasized the need for honesty in business, saying it is critical in upholding the values of any nation.
He said the country has vast resources which if accounted for can help the citizenry of Zimbabwe in improving their livelihoods.
“As a people, we must learn to be very honest and account for what we have. Honesty is very critical in whatever we do,” he added.
The meeting also saw the war veterans discussing challenges affecting their association.
