The Zanu PF National Youth League executive has expressed satisfaction with Matabeleland North’s readiness for the Presidential Youth Interface Rally to be held at Somhlolo stadium this Friday.
The sentiments came out after the party’s provincial coordinating committee meeting held with the Matabeleland North provincial development committee in Lupane this Tuesday afternoon.
Preparations for the rally have gone a gear up with tents already being pitched at the venue and works expected to be completed this Wednesday.
Although all the districts have arranged transport, fuel and food, the National Youth League executive has sourced 10 000 t-shirts carrying the message that encourages young people to register to vote in next year’s elections.
The youth league executive also sourced 10 000 litres of fuel to ensure that all the available vehicles can ferry people to and from the venue.
Zanu PF Secretary for the Youth Affairs Cde Kudzai Chipanga called on the youths to use the remaining days and go an extra mile in fulfilling their role to mobilise people so that they come out in their numbers on Friday.
“As the National Youth League executive, we have done what we can – we sourced the tents, we sourced the t-shirts and we have sourced fuel for you, however, we cannot mobilise people for you. That comrades, is your role, so what we expect to see on Friday is a stadium filled to capacity,” said Cde Chipanga.
The party’s provincial leadership pledged to continue mobilising the people while acting provincial administrator Ms Enert Sithole gave the delegates feedback on what has been done so far.
Tsholotsho district will provide 14 trucks, 10 buses and 40 commuter omnibuses while Umguza will provide 10 000 litres of fuel, 10 trucks and 10 buses among other things.
Prior to the rally, the First Secretary of Zanu PF, President Robert Mugabe is also expected to officially open the Provincial Community Information Centre.
