The stage is set for what is billed to be the most highly subscribed Presidential Youth Interface to be held tomorrow at the Chinhoyi University of Technology sports grounds.
A carnival to set the tone for the mega event was held in Chinhoyi as part of preparations for the interface rally.
The carnival saw youths march from Gadzema bus terminus, through the central business district, before the procession took to the venue of tomorrow’s event.
Trumpets and horns were blown as part of the festivities, while the police band made the occasion all the more captivating.
Zanu PF Secretary for Youth Affairs, Cde Kudzi Chipanga who today made a final inspection of the venue alongside the political leadership from Mashonaland West gave a thumb on the province’s preparedness.
Zanu PF Mashonaland West provincial chairman, Cde Ephraim Chengeta and provincial youth chairman, Cde Tawanda Rupiya said mobilisation of people has been done at grassroot level, while transport logistics have been arranged giving credence to the province’s expected crowd estimate of 100 000 people to attend the rally.
Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs Minister, Cde Faber Chidarikire said his office has done enough in terms of coordinating the necessary departments for the interface.
Before addressing the youths, President Robert Mugabe is expected to officially commission an information centre in Chinhoyi.
