St George’s College were crowned champions of the AKG Chisz under 17 schools football tournament held in the capital on Saturday (yesterday).
St George’s overcame Peterhouse boys 2-1 in the final.
The tournament comprised 12 schools.
Tournament organiser, Allan Gotora said the event was staged in memory of former St George’s College first team player Kudzai Gotora who passed away in a car accident.
Humpfrey Sakarombe a member of the organising team said such events are critical in exposing school boys to competition outside the traditional schools’ tournaments.
The tournament will be held annually with organisers hoping to make it bigger next year by increasing the number of teams.
