The Southern Region Soccer League (SRSL) believes it is in the right direction towards professionalism with results of coaches’ development programmes already being felt.
With six rounds of fixtures having been played, the 14 team league has seen the goal scoring tally increasing by each week, something that the ZIFA SRSL chairman, Musa Mandaza believes is testimony of the fruits of heavy investment in the development of the sport in his constituency.
The league’s secretary general, Tumediso Mokoena Ndlovu highlighted his executive’s desire to further capacitate coaches and administrators through rolling out various coaching and administrative courses.
Last year’s player of the year runner up Bukhosi Sibanda of Bantu Rovers currently tops the scorers chart in the Castle Lager premiership and also managed to bag the April player of the month award with a host of other players going on to excel in the local premiership and abroad.
