The Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) will this Saturday hold its first quarterly meeting with its 48 registered national sports associations.

The first quarterly meeting will look into regulating the way sport is administered with a strong emphasis on the need to adhere to good corporate governance.

Progress reports will also be given on the state of preparations regarding the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics as well as Zone six games set for Zambia.

An evaluation of the 2011 Annual National Sports Awards (ANSA) will also be conducted with stakeholders expected to give their input on areas needing improvements for the national awards and the nomination of other sports hall of fame candidates.

Affiliated associations will have the opportunity to give feedback on the operations of the sports governing body and post updates of activities through a SRC website.

The association will also be appraised of the progress made by the Ministry of Education, Sport, Arts and Culture with regards to the crafting of the National Sport Strategy.
